On February 25, 1980, a nine-year-old boy known only as Robert entered a bank in New York City, pointed a toy gun at a teller, and walked off with $118.00 he spent on a watch and fast food. The boy was taken into custody and later convicted of robbery in a Manhattan family court. Too young to be sent to prison, the judge turned the boy over to the custody of his parents.
