Violent Crime and the Breakdown of the Family

The family unit has changed drastically in the last few decades. Today, for instance, something as simple as eating dinner together as a family has become a rarity. According to the U. S. Census Bureau, only 55 percent of fathers eat dinner with their kids every day. Mike Huckabee, author of Kids Who Kill, recorded that more than 80 percent of all violent juveniles are products of broken homes, and nearly 90 percent of these violent teens have suffered some sort of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse.
