Jill Hansen: The Hawaiian Road Menace

Jill Anjuli Hansen, a 30-year-old resident of Honolulu's Maunalani Heights neighborhood aspired to become a professional surfer. Hansen also claimed to be a model and owner of a swimsuit line. But in her community, if Hansen was known for anything it was for being a violence-prone woman who drove like a maniac.

In 2010 Hanson was convicted twice for speeding. A year later police caught her driving without a license and car insurance. Local officers arrested her three times in 2014 for speeding, including driving 72 in a 35-MPH zone. The Maunalani Heights Neighborhood Watch Group's 500 members were aware of Hansen and her reckless driving habit. A representative of the group reportedly said: "We need everybody to be on the lookout for her, it's that scary. Two people were almost run over by her. One person had a head-on collision with Hansen."

On April 18, 2014 Honolulu police officers arrested Jill Hansen on a charge of third-degree assault. The judge in that case ordered her to undergo mental evaluation. (According to Hansen's father she had solicited someone to murder him on Facebook. As a result, he obtained a restraining order against her.)

On Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in the Diamond Head section of Waikiki, 73-year-old Elizabeth Conklin got out of her BMW 328 Wagon in the parking garage of her apartment complex. As Conklin walked away from her vehicle, Jill Hansen, who had followed her into the parking area, slammed her gray Volkswagen Passat into the woman, knocking her twenty feet.

Following the impact, Jill Hansen climbed out of her VW and walked over to the injured woman who was writhing in pain on the garage floor. Instead of calling 911 Hansen returned to her car, climbed in and was about to take another run at the downed woman when a building employee named Chris Khory grabbed a crow bar and smashed out Hansen's back window.

Mr. Khory's timely intervention caused Hansen to get out of her Volkswagen and flee the scene on foot. Paramedics rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where doctors treated Conklin for numerous cuts and bruises.

At the hospital, the victim told police officers that the attack was not the result of an earlier road-rage incident. She believed her attacker followed her home with the intent of stealing her car. "I parked in my normal parking place," she said. "I got out and all of a sudden woke up in an ambulance. She saw my car, it was the car she wanted. She followed me and was going to kill me to get the car."

An hour or so after running down Elizabeth Conklin in the Waikiki parking garage, Jill Hansen was on her computer updating her Facebook page with a photograph of the victim's BMW. She also informed her Facebook friends and readers that she had just been accepted into the Association of Surfing Professionals. "I am becoming a professional!" she wrote. "I have worked soooo hard to get to where I am today. I am so grateful for the support of surfers and the ASP."

Police officers arrested Jill Hansen at her apartment seven hours after she intentionally plowed into the 73-year-old victim. Officers booked the suspect into jail on the charge of attempted murder. The judge set her bail at $1 million.

In August 2014 the authorities charged Hansen while she awaited her attempted murder trial at the Women's Correctional Center in Kailua, with violating the protection order acquired by her father. (I'm not sure how she managed this while in custody.)

Circuit Judge Richard Perkins, on September 25, 2014, following a series of psychiatric evaluations of Hansen found her mentally unfit to stand trial. The judge ordered her to undergo treatment at a local mental health facility.

After regaining her connection to reality through anti-psychotic medication, Jill Hansen went on trial in Honolulu on the charge of second-degree attempted murder in the Conklin case. She waived her right to a jury in favor of a so-called bench trial where the judge determines issues of law and fact.

The principal witnesses during Hansen's 4-day trial on August 23, 2015 involved three mental health experts brought to the stand by the defendant's attorney, Victor Bakke. The psychiatrists, pursuant to Hansen's insanity defense, testified that she had tried to kill the victim while suffering from a psychosis that had rendered her incapable of distinguishing right from wrong. She had therefore been incapable of forming the requisite criminal intent.

On August 27, 2015 Judge Richard Perkins found Jill Hansen, due to her state of mind at the time of the assault, not criminally responsible. Instead of prison, she was sent to a state hospital where she would remain until her doctors determine she could be safely released back into society.
Jill Hansen was released from the mental hospital sometime in 2018.

  4. First, and foremost Jill knows that I genuinely Love and Support Female Surfers, and She has always been nice to me (which is more than I can say about so many others within The Surfing Community). When Jill is ‘thinking-clearly,’ she is one helluva surfer. I have seen her ‘rip‘ on long boards as well as short boards. Sadly (as so many others), she befriended some, who were never her friends, but instead, were simply “vampires.”

  5. She has been targeted and framed. The old lady is a perp paid to harass Jill, together with other perps they work 24/7 to harass Jill until she emotionally explode, as she finally did. The bmw picture on the Facebook page is clearly posted by somebody who control her Facebook account, not by Jill. This is what is called Gangstalking, and is dark game to drive somebody to a Psichiatric Hospital or to commit suicide. She's a victim.

  6. The preceding comment is atrocious. I've had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Conklin for more than a decade, and she's a lovely woman - both inside and out. She's devoted herself to charitable causes, and is one of the most truly selfless individuals I have ever known. She would give the shirt off of her back to anyone in need. Elizabeth works to improve the social condition and brings love and joy to those around her. She was a trailblazer in the business world and became a successful business owner through her hard work and determination when men dominated the workforce, and is generous of both heart and spirit. She accomplished more in 1 year of her life than her assailant could hope to accomplish in a lifetime. The defendant is a lowlife who deserves to spend the rest of her life locked away.

  7. I have over 200 emails form Jill in a years timeline where she stated "I am doing "Satan's Doctrine" today .. which means running over someone with the car you want.. then you get to keep the car and home of the christian" ... Its her family and the local Police that enabled her to attack innocent victims . I sent 5 emails from Jill to the Wakiki Police and they did nothing but say Call 911 next time. Her mom and sister and the local police are just as guilty for keeping this violent Fucktard drug addict loose to fight in the water, speed in the streets and threaten 14 people EVERY day

  8. she was a nutt case, unfortunately. Her psychosis was out of control and kept saying that Jamie O'brien and Sierra Quitquit had plan to kill because her Dad had instructed them to do it. She kept saying she was supposed to be a millionaire but her Dad was denying her all the money.
She needs to be kept in a mental facility for the sake of her and all other people.

  10. Witnessed a guy ran into/over this girl out at #3's several years ago. Three's was very excellent just going off about as good and crowded as it gets. Had the girl Jill Anjuli Hansen; aka JAH out and she was just dropping in on guys coming down the line. It was just unbelievable. I see a well-known North Shore old timer drop into a perfect wave and as he's coming down the line this chick is just paddling into the wave like she's the only one in the water. Because he's an amazing surfer he somehow was able to weave around her, ride out the rest of the wave, kicks out, and then he paddles right up to her and is like sister what in the world are you doing your going to get hurt or hurt someone?! Instantly she's like fuck you, I can catch any wave I want, and just starts going off on him going on and on how she's a pro surfer and she's going to drop in on anyone she wants and fuck you over and over and it was bonkers. He tells her sister your crazy-you need help from God and we paddle back out together just tripping out on the whole thing and watching the waves roll in and make it back out to the lineup and everyone is talking about her. Well next thing you know we see a guy lock into a nice one and he's locked into the pocket just flying down the line and you can see her up ahead on the shoulder looking right at him and just paddling like he's not even there and he starts yelling and screaming HEY WATCH OUT WATCH OUT as she's still trying to paddle into the wave and BAM he hits her right square in the head with the nose of his longboard going at full speed. They both pop up and she jumps right back on her board and starts coming after the guy shouting I'm gonna press charges your going to jail and I'm gonna kill you and bloods just pouring out of her head and some guys are trying to help her and she's just straight up going mental like you wouldn't believe and the guy who hit her is just trying to paddle away from her. Word gets back to the lineup and everyone is just tripping out talking about it and some guy comes up to the guy who hit her and says he thought for sure she was dead and a bunch of ppl are checking out the guys board and her hair and skin are actually embedded in the cracked up nose of the board. Well next thing the lifeguard with the ski comes between the channel of Paradise and Threes with JAH hanging on behind on the sled and the lifeguard goes out past the Three's line up towards Bowls and the entire line up just starts applauding and cheering as JAH is hanging onto the back with blood still pouring out her head looking at everyone like she's some kind of amazing super model pro surfer being given special treatment. Never seen anything like it in my life.

  12. JAH was one of the kindest souls I ever knew. When we would surf together and just forget the world, i could never EVER even DREAM that JAH would be capable of something like this. She literally had no motive, she lent me nearly $2,000 just weeks before... I don;t know why she did this...I think she must have made some powerful enemies...They used Directed Energy Weapons on diplomats in Cuba...it drives people insane...they probably used these neuroweapons on JAH too...so sad...

    1. Yep, them directed energy weapons will do it every time. They aimed them at my pet frog and now it won't ribbet any more. What can I do? Then I remembered that there's 2 drumsticks on a frog and had some lunch.
