A woman and her boyfriend were charged with murder Tuesday October 7, 2014 after police said they put alcohol in the IV tube of the woman's disabled 13-year-old son, killing him. Melissa Robitille and Walter Richter III of Hardwick, Vermont were charged with second-degree murder in the death of Isaac Robitille. Melissa Robitille called police August 22, 2014 to report that Isaac was dead.
Isaac Robitille was born with significant medical conditions and multiple disabilities that required caretakers, feeding tubes and IV tubes…Robitille and Richter, both 38, were charged with using the IV tube to administer alcohol to the boy, leading to his death. An autopsy by the state medical examiner's office found the victim's blood-alcohol content was 0.146 percent, nearly twice the legal limit for adults to drive.
