There'...I never use bills higher than twenties. There's one food market I sometimes go to that, for several years now, whenever I pay with twenties, they run a grease pen over both sides to check for possible counterfeits. They didn't do it for smaller bills, presumably because their loss exposure was less than with $20 bills and higher.

Two days ago, I paid for a purchase between $5.01 and $6 with a five and a one. This time. I noticed that the cashier ran a grease pen over the five but not the one. I guess they now have reason to believe there are enough fake fives circulating to increase their loss risks on them.Regina Litmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06900475576832072175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6528377935446865958.post-86021565865893012312016-02-11T04:42:46.852-05:002016-02-11T04:42:46.852-05:00You're welcome. Now, I look at a bill and don't think I could tell if it is real or fake. How does an average person know? I hope no one will ever pass me a fake bill but I appreciate this mini tutorial.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
